Williams died at age 48 following a medical emergency during a match that took place at an Enjoy Wrestling event on September 5. During the match, Williams teamed up with The Blade (Jesse Guilmette) against TME, a team consisting of Jones and Duke Davis. Paramedics were called after Williams collapsed in the ring, and he was later pronounced dead. Enjoy Wrestling issues statement on Andy ‘The Butcher’ Williams’ death
The Pittsburgh-based promotion Andy Williams was wrestling for on Saturday night (Sept. 5) when he collapsed is called Enjoy Wrestling. It was celebrating its fifth anniversary Labor Day weekend, but had already announced it would be shutting down for good after its October 4 card. Kurt Hackimer is a co-owner of Enjoy Wrestling. He provided the first statement on the 48-year-old Williams’ death, which occurred in the hours after he collapsed at Enjoy’s show.
