Final Money in the Bank qualifiers are set
WWE has made it through all but two qualifiers for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches scheduled for this year’s Money in the Bank premium live event on Oct. 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Those two triple threat matches will both take place on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. They are: Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Johnny Gargano They’re getting more star power cooked up for the men’s match, and it only makes sense to go this route after CM Punk qualified this week. Randy Orton is surely going to make his presence felt, as will WWE Champion Sami Zayn. It’s hard to imagine Owens losing this one, interference be damned. Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, and Punk have already qualified. Tiffany Stratton vs. Tatum Paxley vs. Candice LeRae The story here is LeRae got in because Zayn pushed for it. Meanwhile, Paxley looks to continue a relatively hot start on the main roster while Stratton is trying to be

Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens & Tiffany Stratton Set for MITB Qualifiers
The final spots in WWE’s Money in the Bank ladder matches will be decided next week. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Johnny Gargano battle for the last spot in the men’s match. On the women’s side, Tiffany Stratton, Tatum Paxley and Candice LeRae will also have one last chance to punch their ticket to New […] The post Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens & Tiffany Stratton Set for MITB Qualifiers appeared first on Wrestlezone.

Kevin Owens’ WWE Title Match Kickout Wasn’t Supposed To Happen — Report
Sami Zayn successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens on the September 18 episode of SmackDown. However, the finish of the match did not go according to WWE’s original plans. The match became chaotic when Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae got involved at ringside. Owens eventually took care of Gargano before turning his […] The post Kevin Owens’ WWE Title Match Kickout Wasn’t Supposed To Happen — Report appeared first on Wrestlezone.

Don’t worry, Sami Zayn didn’t lose the WWE title already
At the start of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Corpus Christi, Texas, Sami Zayn was demanding some respect. He is the WWE champion for a second time, he’s still the last good guy, and he’s still a man of the people, or so he says. Naturally, the first thing you do after a new champion is crowned is figure out his first challenger. This is particularly important in the case of Zayn because his last title reign lasted just nine days. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis even taunted him a bit about maybe only making it to seven this time. That would have hurt. Thankfully, for Zayn, at least, it’s not what happened. Indeed, after Johnny Gargano made his play for a championship match, and then Kevin Owens did the same, Aldis admitted he felt CM Punk deserved a rematch but ultimately booked Zayn vs. Owens for the main event of this week’s show. Of course it was an overbooked showcase. First, Gargano got involved: WHAT IS GOING ON HERE??? 😳 JOHNNY GARGANO AND CANDICE LE

WWE SmackDown recap, reactions (Sept. 11, 2026): ¡Justicia para Sami!
Something about land south of the United States border just agrees with WWE in the TKO era. For most its time as WWE property, AAA’s been the best-booked brand in the company for a year. And when SmackDown came our way from Mexico City on Fri., Sept. 11, 2026, it gave us a fast-paced, enjoyable, eventful two hours of wrestling television. Here’s the internet’s best live blog for that, courtesy of the one and only Claire Elizabeth. Now to answer Randy Orton’s question, which he asked to mock the absent Cody Rhodes… let’s talk about Smackdown, and let’s start with the now-two-time WWE champion(!) Sami Zayn. The arc of the moral universe is long… Along with some gorgeous aerial shots of the Mexican capital, we opened with footage of then-champion CM Punk and then-challenger Zayn entering Arena CMDX. The next we saw Sami, he was nailing a backstage promo — as he pretty much always does, which is why he’s still in this spot. The scene was also important because Johnny Gargano and Candice L

Sami Zayn wins the WWE championship back from CM Punk
Sami Zayn finally got his one-on-one match for the WWE championship against CM Punk in the main event of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Mexico City. The champ decided he was good and tired of Zayn whining about how unfair it all is that his nine day reign ended the way it did. Zayn recruited Johnny Gargano to try to help him win the title, with the idea the two would square up for the gold once the title changed hands. Sure enough, Johnny Wrestling and his wife, Candice LeRae, were out just in time to ensure the referee didn’t see Sami tapping to the Anaconda Vise. Gargano then ran in with the belt and what ensued was a wild back-and-forth. Gargano was taken out by Punk with a GTS but Kevin Owens was next to run in, grabbing the title to try knocking Zayn out with it. Sami ducked and Punk took the shot. When Owens tried to do the same to his old friend, he was hit with a low blow and taken out of the picture. The follow up Helluva Kick to a now loopy Punk was enough t

This Johnny Gargano photo op is too good to pass up
Sami Zayn, in happier times, poses with Johnny Gargano. | (Photo: Candice LeRae) Wrestling fans have a chance to snap a unique photo with Johnny Gargano during WWE’s SummerSlam weekend. Gargano and his wife, Candice LeRae, are among several WWE superstars appearing at the Minneapolis Convention Center from July 31 through August 2. Meeting Mr. & Mrs. Wrestling alone is a selling point, but it gets better. “Johnny will be planking for photo,” according to the event’s details. JOHNNY GARGANO IS PLANKING DURING HIS PHOTO OPS AT WWE WORLD I'M DYING 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/nEvY3WRkN2 — Wrestling Pics & Clips (@WrestleClips) April 16, 2026 Gargano seemingly lost the will to live after losing to Axiom at the end of January on SmackDown. Since then, the down-on-life star has been lying around, planking in a funk. His depressed state sparked an online meme earlier this year, as fans took up a similar “give up” attitude. Gargano’s misery was recently captured in an ironically happy
