Young Bucks are the first ever 4-time AEW world tag team champions after brutal TLC dream match
The AEW commentators called it a “generational dream match” when the Young Bucks, FTR, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland & Christian Cage fought in a 3-way ladder match tonight (Sept. 26) at All Out. This match was a callback to Edge and Christian’s famous TLC matches from their WWF days. Needless to say, there were lots of thrilling sequences involving tables, ladders, and chairs. The Old Bucks, Cope & Cage, and AEW’s Dudley Boyz go wild with Tables, Ladders, and Chairs
Tonight’s (Sept. 23) episode of Dynamite featured an in-ring promo between the Young Bucks, FTR, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. These three teams are fighting for the gold this Saturday night at the All Out pay-per-view in a 3-way TLC match (that AEW is calling a Ladder match). Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler didn’t have much to say during their portion of the promo. Matt and Nick Jackson said of course FTR had nothing to say, because they are AEW’s Dudley Boyz. The Young Bucks then admitted the word “young” doesn’t really apply to themselves anymore, and this might be their last chance to win these belts. This explains why the Motor City Machine Guns are missing from AEW
The Motor City Machine Guns’ run in AEW has been a huge disappointment up to this point, mostly because they’ve barely been on television. AEW officially announced that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are All Elite after their surprise appearance on the July 30 live episode of Collision in their hometown of Detroit. MCMG then disappeared from AEW programming for the build to August’s All In London pay-per-view. They did appear at Wembley Stadium in a post-match segment to confront AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. However, since then, Sabin and Shelley have only wrestled one match against low card guys, which took place on the Sept. 5 episode of Collision. They have not wrestled on Dynamite at all since signing with AEW, and it looks like Tony Khan’s creative has nothing planned for them at this month’s All Out pay-per-view. AEW Dynamite recap, reactions (Sep. 16, 2026): Jon Moxley is back to breaking necks
A leopard can’t change its spots. With Jon Moxley forced to follow the rules for one-on-one combat with the AEW Continental Championship, it is easy to forget that he is a killer at heart. After the main event of Dynamite (Sep. 16, 2026), Moxley went back to his neck breaking ways. There was no attempted murder on this episode thanks to Will Ospreay, but the message was sent to the world champ. Dynamite also featured Christian Cage being sleazy, Chris Jericho taking Nick Wayne’s mojo, Okada with the laugh of the night, challengers in line for the trios titles scene, and more from Chartway Arena in Norfolk, VA. Cope was ambushed backstage at AEW Dynamite
He didn’t show up on our screens during Dynamite last night (Sept. 9), but it seems Adam Copeland was on hand in Athens, Georgia’s Akins Ford Arena. Like a lot of his colleagues in the business, the WWE Hall of Famer and reigning AEW Tag champ was probably on-hand to support Rebel and her ALS-fighting efforting. But the Canadian formerly known as Edge was also there to help set-up his debut for the relaunched Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in his home country, which takes place at the historic Maple Leaf Gardens on Oct. 3. The build for that started last week, when Cope called out former TNA World champion Steve Maclin for talking trash about The North. Christian Cage’s friend and tag partner laid out his Canuck bonafides (“I piss Molsons and maple syrup”, says Cope) for the U.S. Marine veteran, then asked if Maclin had “a set” to face him at MLP Northern Rising next month. Young Bucks get blockbuster match for AEW Redemption PPV
The tag team division in AEW is about to explode with epic matches galore. Speculation is increasing that the New Day and the Motor City Machine Guns are soon to be All Elite. Not to mention that the Young Bucks have yet to wrestle Adam Copeland and Christian Cage face to face. That dream match appears to be simmering for All In. In the meantime, the Young Bucks got themselves a blockbuster match for Redemption. During Collision (July 18, 2026), The Jackson boys had the testicular fortitude to call out Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay for the PPV. This isn’t just about the testing themselves to prove they are the top team in AEW. The bigger picture for the Young Bucks is to protect Kenny Omega. Sir Kenneth has a date to defend the AEW World Championship against Ospreay at All In. The Bucks don’t like seeing Kenny get chummy with Bruv, because they suspect it is a trap from the Death Riders. Matt and Nick want to prove that Ospreay can not be trusted now that he is a member of Moxley’s crew.
