Final Money in the Bank qualifiers are set
WWE has made it through all but two qualifiers for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches scheduled for this year’s Money in the Bank premium live event on Oct. 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Those two triple threat matches will both take place on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. They are: Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Johnny Gargano They’re getting more star power cooked up for the men’s match, and it only makes sense to go this route after CM Punk qualified this week. Randy Orton is surely going to make his presence felt, as will WWE Champion Sami Zayn. It’s hard to imagine Owens losing this one, interference be damned. Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, and Punk have already qualified. Tiffany Stratton vs. Tatum Paxley vs. Candice LeRae The story here is LeRae got in because Zayn pushed for it. Meanwhile, Paxley looks to continue a relatively hot start on the main roster while Stratton is trying to be

SmackDown recap & reactions (Sep. 25, 2026): Randy Orton keeps it real
Keep It Real "I never changed" 😯@RandyOrton believes there is only one man in the locker room who has not let evolution change his legacy…HIM! pic.twitter.com/PHToZYXlO8 — WWE (@WWE) September 26, 2026 There’s an old saying in Hip Hop that has different meanings to different people, but it was the mission statement for at least a decade: keep it real. Every artist defined “real” for themselves. At its core, it always came back to being true to yourself. There were even Sprite commercials dedicated to that notion that featured rappers. I really do miss the 1990s. Anyway, I thought about that listening to Randy Orton on this edition of SmackDown. Randy, shocking no one, had a lot on his mind after hearing what Cody said when he thought the cameras cut off last week. Randy’s words cut through Cody’s veneer because despite what Cody says, he really has changed. Randy walked us through the evolution from “Dusty’s kid” to now. The one constant in Cody’s career is, no pun intended, evol

MJF’s very MJF reaction to PWI 500 win, and his thoughts on the rest of the Top 10
Earlier today (Sept. 24), Pro Wrestling Illustrated released its big annual conversation-starting list of the 500 pro wrestlers it deems the best in the world – the PWI 500. In first place for the Aug. 2025-July 2026 year the magazine was considering for its 36th PWI 500 was AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman, a man with the gift of gab and a never-ending desire to toot his own horn. PWI having a reaction podcast set with the new #1 immediately after this year’s top ten dropped? That’s just smart booking. Speaking, and often jousting with, PWI’s Lyric Swinton, Friedman congratulated the magazine for finally getting it right and putting him on top. Then Max and Lyric bantered about the nine names after his on the list. To kick this off Swinton mentions sticking to five words about or sending a message to each man, but they didn’t hold to that throughout: 2. Cody Rhodes: “Mentor. Beat him.” 3. CM Punk: “[Bleeped word I believe started with a ’c’]. Beat him.” 4. Mistico: “Douchebag. And I beat

AEW’s MJF Tops 2026 PWI 500 Ahead of WWE’s Cody Rhodes and CM Punk
AEW’s MJF has earned the top spot in the 2026 PWI 500. Pro Wrestling Illustrated revealed its 36th annual PWI 500 list on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Former AEW World Champion AEW topped the list, ranking higher than former Undisputed WWE Champions Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. MJF ends Cody Rhodes’ run atop the PWI 500
The 36th annual PWI 500 — Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s (mostly) kayfabe ranking of the 500 best wrestlers in the world — is here. Grabbing the top spot, beating out a former mentor-turned-rival in Cody Rhodes and a former inspiration-turned-nemesis in CM Punk, was AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The three-time AEW World champ ended Rhodes two-year run as the top man in the PWI 500. It represents a huge leap for MJF, who was 30th in last year’s edition. They were followed by one of the hottest wrestlers in the world, Mistico, with New Japan & AEW’s Konosuke Takeshita rounding out the top five. Here’s the entire top ten: MJF Cody Rhodes CM Punk Mistico Konosuke Takeshita Hangman Adam Page Yota Tsuji Trick Williams Oba Femi Gunther As has been their trend in recent years, PWI gives us a fairly balanced list from the Aug. 1, 2025-July 31, 2026 time period they consider. We’ve got five WWE names, four AEW ones (two of which also represent partners CMLL and New Japan), and a strictly NJPW wrest

Cody Rhodes Is Back on AEW Dynamite After Four Years, but There’s a Twist
Cody Rhodes made a surprise return to AEW Dynamite this week, but not in one of the company’s storylines. Rhodes’ appearance was especially notable because of his history with AEW. He was one of the company’s founding executive vice presidents and played a major role in helping establish AEW as a major wrestling promotion. After […] The post Cody Rhodes Is Back on AEW Dynamite After Four Years, but There’s a Twist appeared first on Wrestlezone.

WWE NXT Recap & Reactions (Sep. 22, 2026): Castling
One of the big stories out of Orlando this past week is the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It has been almost three years since Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker, then known as the Wolf Dogs, knocked off Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes at Vengeance Day 2024 to win the most recent Dusty Cup. NXT GM Robert Stone announced the tournament’s return on last week’s show, and the participants and bracket were gradually released throughout the rest of the week. All in all, the field is pretty NXT-heavy, as to be expected, but stars from Raw, SmackDown, Evolve, and AAA were thrown in for a little added flavor. After Cody Rhodes kicked off the show, narrating yet another fantastic WWE-produced video montage featuring clips of Dusty and past Classic winners, the first match in the tournament kicked things off with a bang. Like a certain United States Champion, whose controversial new T-shirt lasted on WWE Shop for only a few days, might say: Let’s talk about it! The Dusty Classic begin
