Worlds Collide is one week away on Saturday, August 26 from Chicago, IL. Rey Mysterio revealed the full card with talent from WWE, NXT, and AAA, and WWE is delivering a special appearance from Oba Femi. WWE gave new Perros del Mal a key piece of the group’s past at Triplemania
Having found the beloved babyface it can build its new lucha libre property around — in a German playing a made-up American lucha libre legend, of all things — WWE is now in the business of setting up formidable and menacing heels for the heroic El Grande Americano to battle and ultimately put down in AAA. Toward that end, AAA brought back one of the hottest lucha acts of the 21st century, the rudo group Perros del Mal. Made up of previous Perros member Daga, Hector Garza’s nephews Angel & Berto, and NXT’s Karmen Petrovic, the new Perros are obviously missing deceased founder Perro Aguayo Jr. That didn’t seem to be the only thing they were missing heading into Triplemania 34 this past weekend. But even though they didn’t pick up the big addition some of us were predicting, the latest incarnation of Perros del Mal did get an upgrade. Perros del Mal win AAA trios titles and still look weak
AAA’s handling of Los Perros del Mal is one of the few disappointments in the WWE era. Bringing back the classic faction brought a sense of excitement. So much so that fans overlooked the losing ways of Angel and Berto to give them a fresh start. It didn’t take long for AAA to squander that aura at the altar of Penta in a meaningless match. The next step was to rebound to get their heat back by winning the trios titles. That looks good on paper, but they still looked weak in victory at Triplemania 34 Night 1 (Sep. 11, 2026) in Las Vegas. Daga, Angel, and Berto challenged the Psycho Circus crew of Psycho Clown, Murder Clown, and Dave The Clown. Psycho was a replacement for the injured Panic Clown. With Psycho in the match, you didn’t need Steiner Math to see odds increasing for interference from Carnicero. That’s what happened. Psycho brawled with the monster to the back. Perros del Mal ruin AAA main event, and El Grande Americano wants revenge
Los Perros del Mal struck again, but those dogs won’t go unpunished. El Grande Americano is coming for revenge. Two weeks ago in AAA, Perro Aguayo Jr.’s faction was reignited when Daga, Angel Garza, Humberto Carillo, Bronco Nima, and Karmen Petrovic ambushed El Grande Americano. That was a heck of a way to make a name for themselves. The following week, the group promo vignette aired about hell liberating them. Los Perros urinated on AAA’s carpet during the latest episode of lucha libre action airing Saturday night (July 4, 2026) taped from Merida, Mexico. They enacted the same trick to ruin the main event between El Fiscal and Abismo Negro Jr. The masked men collided in a double clothesline. That’s when Petrovic frolicked to the ring. Boom! The rest of the Perros rushed in to inflict pain. They held up Fiscal to be victim for Petrovic’s wicked kick.
