Luna debuted at All Out as the mystery opponent to challenge Persephone for the TBS Championship. Thanks to interference from Dr. Britt Baker, Luna lost the match. A short while later, Tony Khan confirmed that Luna signed with AEW. She responded, “Right where I’m supposed to be. AEW’s latest MYSTERY star loses title match at All Out
TBS Champion Persephone is not a coward, so she issued an open challenge for (almost) anyone inside or outside of AEW to show up tonight (Sept. 26) at All Out and challenge for her belt. Lots of fans were hopeful that the mystery opponent would turn out to be former WWE star and current free agent Kairi Sane. Those folks will have to wait a bit longer for KAIRI to show up in AEW, because it was actually former TNA star Dani Luna making her AEW debut to answer the call. Former TNA Knockouts titleholder believed to be AEW-bound
Back in March, two-time Knockouts Tag champ Dani Luna requested and was granted her release from TNA Wrestling. The news came shortly after Luna challenged for the Knockouts single title on a streaming special, a move that was delayed a couple months by visa issues. We haven’t heard much about the 27-year-old Brit since, but Luna’s name popped up on the wrestle web again last night (Sept. 15) with a Fightful Select report on her next contract. That says Jody Threat’s old Spitfire tag partner “has the interest” of Tony Khan’s company. Sean Ross Sapp’s sources at AEW went so far as to that if Luna isn’t already signed, they expect it to happen soon. One source told Fightful they expected her to debut while AEW was touring the United Kingdom ahead of All In a couple weeks back, but that obviously didn’t happen.
