WWE Stock Report: Big Cass is a big dud so far in his return to WWE
Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report. In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included The Judgment Day beating up El Grande Americano on Raw in Mexico City, Sami Zayn’s latest WWE championship reign lasting longer than seven days, and Danhausen blocking some guy named Mickie from calling Nick Aldis, a lot of fortunes were changed. With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week: Stock Down #3: Randy Orton & Jade Cargill Both of the 3-way Money in the Bank qualifying matches on this week’s SmackDown had the same finish, with a former world champion heel hitting their finishing move on a weaker babyface, only for the third person to steal the pin for the win. Will AAA strip El Grande Americano of the Mega Championship?
Something fishy is cooking in AAA courtesy of Dorian Roldan. The manager for Dominik Mysterio is pursuing legal avenues to assess the situation of Dirty Dom ‘unfairly’ losing the Mega Championship to El Grande Americano at Triplemania 34. If Roldan’s lawyers can work an angle, then it is possible that Grande may be stripped of the title. The issue at hand is Rey Mysterio using his general manager power to act as the backup referee to count the winning pinfall. Critics will point to Rey’s bias toward his own son as a deadbeat father. Sane people will recognize that Rey acted impartially, and Grande is the rightful winner. On the latest episode of Lucha Libre AAA (Sep. 19, 2026), Roldan explained that Rey’s involvement was not right. An investigation will assess Rey’s action to determine if he acted correctly. AAA was hot last weekend with two nights of Triplemania 34. El Grande Americano triumphed in the main event to win the Mega Championship from Dominik Mysterio. Surprise returns in AAA Copa Bardahl, Omos breaks record at Triplemania 34
Omos is living up to his reputation as a giant in AAA. Not only did Omos beat the legendary Rey Mysterio on Night 1, the giant also broke records in the Copa Bardahl in Night 2. Omos was the story of La Copa Bardahl, but there were also a few surprise returns. First was El Mesias (aka Mil Muertes from Lucha Underground). The AAA legend is a four-time mega champion. Personally, I think Mesias could be built up well enough as a challenger to El Grande Americano on a B-level special event. The other surprise was the final man to enter, Niño Hamburguesa. The crowd favorite was fired earlier this year over an altercation with a fan at an indie show. La Copa Bardahl is similar to the Royal Rumble. 15 men entered. Omos was the last man standing, and he did so in dominating fashion. Omos entered 13th and promptly demonstrated his power. One mini wasn’t scared to back down. WWE gave new Perros del Mal a key piece of the group’s past at Triplemania
Having found the beloved babyface it can build its new lucha libre property around — in a German playing a made-up American lucha libre legend, of all things — WWE is now in the business of setting up formidable and menacing heels for the heroic El Grande Americano to battle and ultimately put down in AAA. Toward that end, AAA brought back one of the hottest lucha acts of the 21st century, the rudo group Perros del Mal. Made up of previous Perros member Daga, Hector Garza’s nephews Angel & Berto, and NXT’s Karmen Petrovic, the new Perros are obviously missing deceased founder Perro Aguayo Jr. That didn’t seem to be the only thing they were missing heading into Triplemania 34 this past weekend. But even though they didn’t pick up the big addition some of us were predicting, the latest incarnation of Perros del Mal did get an upgrade.
