New women’s champion crowned at AAA Triplemania 34
There is a new queen in AAA. La Catalina came, she saw, and she conquered Flammer to win the Reina de Reinas Championship at Triplemania 34. All signs pointed to this being Catalina’s destiny. Flammer had cleared out the division, and Catalina was the big signing from CMLL to arrive on the scene. Heading into the bout, Las Toxicas had issues in the ring with Flammer unintentionally costing La Hiedra in #1 contender bouts. Despite tension between partners, all seemed well heading into Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Sunday night (Sep. 13, 2026). Roxanne Perez is #1 contender
Roxanne Perez is the new #1 contender… for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. The Prodigy competed in a four-way at Triplemania 34 Night 1 (full results) from Las Vegas on Friday night (Sep. 11, 2026). Roxanne’s competition was Nattie Neidhart, Faby Apache, and La Hiedra. Current champion Flammer joined commentary to scout the match. Even though the crowd cheered for Roxanne, the wrestlers took pleasure in teaming up on her. Roxanne showed her moxie to pick her spots, such as trapping Faby in a dangerous crossface submission. The action broke down with Nattie and Faby getting smashed on the outside. The finish was between Roxanne and Hiedra. The masked luchadora surged for a Michinku Driver, but that wasn’t enough to keep Roxanne down. WWE AAA Lucha Libre results, live discussion (July 4, 2026): Rey Mysterio’s surprise?
AAA is back for another serving of lucha libre on Saturday night (July 4, 2026). Three matches are on the agenda, however, there could be bigger news coming from this episode. AAA general manager Rey Mysterio is working on a deal for the appearance of a former WWE world champion. That man should arrive on this episode, but I’m not 100% sure if that will be the case. Rey’s surprise wasn’t mentioned in the AAA preview material on social media. We’ll find out together. Also on the card is Lady Shani returning to fight Reina de Reinas champion Flammer in a non-title bout, the ongoing feud between El Fiscal and Abismo Negro Jr., as well as Mr. Iguana and La Parka together in a tag team three-way contest.
