WWE Stock Report: This isn’t what GUNTHER signed up for when he joined WWE
Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report. In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Solo Sikoa getting kidnapped by The 946, CM Punk not being too old to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match, and Oba Femi joining forces with Je’Von Evans to wipe out The Vision, a lot of fortunes were changed. With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week: Stock Down #3: Giulia Giulia predictably took the fall in this week’s Money in the Bank qualifying match against Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend. It’s not the ideal way to build up Giulia for Blake Monroe’s debut match, which is once again being advertised for next week’s SmackDown. Stock Down #2: GUNTHER After failing to win the WWE championship throughout the summer, GUNTHER was pinned by CM Punk in a Money in the Bank qualifying match on this

Final Money in the Bank qualifiers are set
WWE has made it through all but two qualifiers for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches scheduled for this year’s Money in the Bank premium live event on Oct. 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Those two triple threat matches will both take place on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. They are: Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Johnny Gargano They’re getting more star power cooked up for the men’s match, and it only makes sense to go this route after CM Punk qualified this week. Randy Orton is surely going to make his presence felt, as will WWE Champion Sami Zayn. It’s hard to imagine Owens losing this one, interference be damned. Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, and Punk have already qualified. Tiffany Stratton vs. Tatum Paxley vs. Candice LeRae The story here is LeRae got in because Zayn pushed for it. CM Punk is headed back to the Money in the Bank ladder match
I’ve been preaching about the youth movement WWE has pushed with its Money in the Bank ladder matches this year but there’s only so many young guys in they can push without including some veteran top level talent. That’s how we ended up with a triple threat qualifier featuring CM Punk, GUNTHER, and Finn Balor, which took place in the main event of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Indianapolis. It was a mad dash to the finish, with no short supply of finishers from all three men. No different than every other qualifier before it, they did a variation of the same beat to end it — one wrestler hits a finish, another comes in to take advantage of it. GUNTHER had a sleeper on Punk when Balor came in with the Coup de Grace, and it was Punk who took advantage before Finn could get back. WWE SmackDown preview (Sept. 25, 2026): CM Punk is too old to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match
SmackDown airs tonight (Sept. 25) with a live show emanating from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is the eight episode of SmackDown during the ten week build to Money in the Bank, which takes place on October 10. CM Punk is too old to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match I remember back in 2021 writing about WWE’s very old roster that resulted in the oldest average age for an Elimination Chamber match in history, as well as a men’s 30-man Royal Rumble match that featured 16 wrestlers over 40 years old, and only two participants under 32 years old. That feels like a very long time ago, especially given how WWE is clearly embracing youth with most of the participants in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches. So far the men’s side includes Je’Von Evans (22 years old), Bron Breakker (28), and Trick Williams (32) all qualified for the ladder match, with Penta (41) being the only older star in the mix. Oba Femi is already back kicking ass and taking names
It’s been obvious for some time now but WWE has its guy in Oba Femi. He was taken out by The Vision on Monday Night Raw just a couple weeks back. It wasn’t clear how long he would sell the effects of the beatdown but we knew it wasn’t going to be too long. It turns out, it was just two weeks, much to the delight of the San Antonio faithful on this week’s episode of Raw. They blew the roof off for him. Je’Von Evans slapped Bron Breakker in the face and got himself a match with one half of the world tag team champions. That match inevitably broke down into a melee that saw The Vision rush in to beat Evans down, leaving him in a 5-v-1 situation. WWE Raw preview (Sept. 21, 2026): One of WWE’s missing top stars is back to dominate Raw
Raw airs tonight (Sept. 21) with a live show emanating from Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is the eight episode of Raw during the ten week build to Money in the Bank, which takes place on October 10. One of WWE’s missing top stars is back to dominate Raw The list of participants for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches features plenty of newer WWE stars such as Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice. The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez will look to keep that trend going tonight when she competes in a 3-way qualifying match on Raw. The only problem is that she’s going up against one of the very best wrestlers on the WWE roster in IYO SKY. Money in the Bank ladder matches look wide open
WWE will head for the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana for its Money in the Bank premium live event on Sat., Oct. 10, 2026. Now that we’re so close to the show, we nearly have completed fields for the two Money in the Bank ladder matches. Here’s who is in so far, and upcoming qualifiers: Men’s: Bron Breakker vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Trick Williams Upcoming qualifiers: Solo Sikoa vs. Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio and CM Punk vs. GUNTHER vs. Finn Balor Women’s: Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne Upcoming qualifiers: Iyo Sky vs. La Catalina vs. Roxanne Perez and Charlotte Flair vs. Giulia vs. Lash Legend That leaves just two more qualifiers, one for each division.
