Final Money in the Bank qualifiers are set
WWE has made it through all but two qualifiers for the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches scheduled for this year’s Money in the Bank premium live event on Oct. 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Those two triple threat matches will both take place on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. They are: Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Johnny Gargano They’re getting more star power cooked up for the men’s match, and it only makes sense to go this route after CM Punk qualified this week. Randy Orton is surely going to make his presence felt, as will WWE Champion Sami Zayn. It’s hard to imagine Owens losing this one, interference be damned. Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, and Punk have already qualified. Tiffany Stratton vs. Tatum Paxley vs. Candice LeRae The story here is LeRae got in because Zayn pushed for it. Meanwhile, Paxley looks to continue a relatively hot start on the main roster while Stratton is trying to be

WWE Raw preview (Sept. 21, 2026): One of WWE’s missing top stars is back to dominate Raw
Raw airs tonight (Sept. 21) with a live show emanating from Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is the eight episode of Raw during the ten week build to Money in the Bank, which takes place on October 10. One of WWE’s missing top stars is back to dominate Raw The list of participants for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches features plenty of newer WWE stars such as Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice. The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez will look to keep that trend going tonight when she competes in a 3-way qualifying match on Raw. The only problem is that she’s going up against one of the very best wrestlers on the WWE roster in IYO SKY. WWE Stock Report: Big Cass is a big dud so far in his return to WWE
Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report. In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included The Judgment Day beating up El Grande Americano on Raw in Mexico City, Sami Zayn’s latest WWE championship reign lasting longer than seven days, and Danhausen blocking some guy named Mickie from calling Nick Aldis, a lot of fortunes were changed. With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week: Stock Down #3: Randy Orton & Jade Cargill Both of the 3-way Money in the Bank qualifying matches on this week’s SmackDown had the same finish, with a former world champion heel hitting their finishing move on a weaker babyface, only for the third person to steal the pin for the win. Cody Rhodes is two different people
WWE said we would be getting a sit down interview with Cody Rhodes on Friday Night SmackDown this week, with the man who calls himself QB1 responding to his indecision in punting Randy Orton’s head off his shoulders. It cost him, as he lost the match because of it. What does that do to a guy? Well, here’s what we got on the broadcast: Buttoned up Cody, doing his best to put a brave face on, saying all the right things, acting like the top babyface trying hard to represent the company the right way. He gets progressively more upset as the interview goes along, and ends things by saying when the situation with Orton comes up again “I’m not going to make the same decision I made at Sunday Night’s Main Event.” He seems almost troubled by that as he thanks Michael Cole for the interview and they fade out. Jacy Jayne qualifies for Money in the Bank ladder match
The current United States champion on the men’s side successfully qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown when Trick Williams pinned Rey Fenix (just after he was hit with an RKO by Randy Orton) in their triple threat match. Could the current United States champion on the women’s side do the same later in the evening? You bet cha! She was up against some incredibly stiff competition — former Women’s Champions in Jade Cargill and Alexa Bliss. It sure looked like she was going to be the one taking the fall to Bliss but because it was a triple threat, Cargill was there — although she was awfully late, and it didn’t come across well on television — to stop the referee from counting to three. Then, just like the men’s match before it, Jayne was there to take advantage when Cargill hit her finish on Bliss, kicking her off and pinning Alexa to qualify.
