Seth Rollins is ‘focusing on other things right now’ amid WWE absence
We haven’t seen Seth Rollins on WWE television dating back to SummerSlam, where he was defeated by Roman Reigns in a world heavyweight championship match and seemingly buried the hatchet with his former Shield stablemate. That put to rest a feud that dated back a number of years, nearly as long as their entire career in the company. The natural question in the wake of such a thing is what’s next? There’s no easy answer to that. WWE, and Rollins himself, it seems, are in no rush to do so either. He was asked by ESPN Chicago if he could tell us when to expect him back on Monday Night Raw and had this to say: “No, I wish I could, honestly. I’ve been off WWE television since SummerSlam. Had a title match with Roman Reigns in Minneapolis, lost that match, and yeah, I’m just taking my time right now, kind of focusing on other things. However, after seeing the big numbers it delivered as well as Penta’s hot merch sales, WWE now thinks it makes a lot of sense to book a rematch. It’s been a while since we checked in on a WWE Top 10 video, and when I happened across the latest I knew I had to share. It covers the “nastiest rivalries of the 2020s,” what they called the “10 most epic rivalries” over that time period. I was certain I knew who they would put at number one, and I was wrong. Seth Rollins says this underrated WWE star is now ‘one of the best wrestlers on the planet’
WWE star Seth Rollins knows a thing or two about being a great wrestler, and he made it clear on his Instagram Stories last night that he believes Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable is now one of the very best in the world. “Watching Gable grow into one of the best wrestlers on the planet has been an absolute treat.” This week’s (Sept. 14) Raw main event match in Mexico City of World Heavyweight Champions Roman Reigns vs. Penta is getting most of the headlines, but plenty of folks out there think Gable’s successful title defense that night against Dragon Lee was just as good, if not better, in some ways. In fact, with Gable being in the midst of the biggest push of his WWE career and even getting a big title win over Penta at SummerSlam, perhaps it’s time that I update my perception and drop the term “underrated” from my description of him.
