Sting’s other son made his AEW debut on Saturday
We’ve been following the career of Steven Borden Jr. pretty closely since he started training with Darby Allin following his father, Sting’s 2024 retirement. But as Steven Jr.‘s AEW television rollout has played out over the past month or so, we’ve also started hearing a lot about Sting’s other son, Garrett. Garrett Borden was also involved in his dad’s farewell angle two-plus years ago, but we’ve only started to learn about his pro wrestling plans. He just booked his first match in May of this year, but that was the result of work he’s been quietly doing with Dustin Rhodes. Garrett and Steven Jr. already have a tag booking at Rhodes Wrestling Association’s November event, and we can start to wonder how long it might be until we see the Stinger Bros tagging on Dynamite or Collision. That’s because Garrett made his AEW debut in a dark match before Collision on Saturday (Sept. 19) in Charleston, West Virginia. Sting’s sons get their first tag team booking
Prior to taking part in their father’s 2024 retirement match at AEW Revolution, neither of Sting’s sons seemed to have caught the pro wrestling bug from their old man. But when this weird artform/business/sport gets its hooks into you… Steven Borden Jr. has been working smaller shows and dark matches since 2024, and has just recently been integrated into AEW’s ongoing television storylines. Garrett Borden only booked his first match this past May, but he’d been quietly working with Dustin Rhodes in Texas to get ready for that. That’s where the Borden brothers set-up their first tag match. Last weekend at a Rhodes Wrestling Association show, 240-pound Garrett got jumped after picking up a pinfall with a Stinger Splash followed by a TKO.
