The hottest woman in AEW is now coming for Mercedes Moné’s world title
AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné isn’t cleared to compete after suffering a broken nose when she won the title last month at All in. Former champions Thekla and Willow Nightingale fought each other tonight (Sept. 26) at All Out to determine the number one contender for Mone’s return to the ring next month (Oct. 17) at WrestleDream. Willow entered the match with a broken hand, and that injury proved to be her downfall. The finish first saw the Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue & Julia Hart) interfere and target Willow’s hand. Photo from Thekla’s Instagram Thekla recently appeared on TMZ’s Inside the Ring podcast, and during the interview she shared a brief anecdote about Jeff Jarrett calling her a “crazy b**ch.” During the appearance, the former AEW Women’s World Champion also spoke about her upcoming number one contenders match against Willow Nightingale at AEW All Out this weekend, as well as having positive interactions with wrestling legends like Mick Foley and Chris Jericho. One story she shared about a wrestling legend drew laughter from TMZ hosts Branson Quirke and Roger Corral, and it involved Double J. Corral had asked Thekla about her memorable appearance at AEW All In last month. AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné is not cleared and will miss All Out
AEW Dynamite has recently featured promos between Thekla, AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone, and Willow Nightingale. However, no women’s world title match was announced for All Out, which is coming up in less than two weeks (Sept. 26) in the Chicago area. It turns out there’s a very good reason why no title match was announced; Mercedes Mone is not cleared to compete after suffering a broken nose when she won the belt last month at All In. The AEW commentators conveyed that news on tonight’s (Sept. 16) episode of Dynamite, but also revealed that The CEO will be back in the ring at the WrestleDream pay-per-view on Oct. 17 to defend the belt against either Thekla or Nightingale. Willow and Thekla responded to the news in the following video, with the Toxic Spider once again delivering the best lines about titty cannons and being the last real bitch alive. AEW All In 2026 PPV card: Do you want a three-way for women’s world title?
AEW All Out is two weeks away on Saturday, September 26 from Chicago. There wasn’t much movement on the card over the past week, but there is one big question brewing. Will the women’s world title bout be one-on-one or a three-way? Words are heating up between champion Mercedes Moné and Thekla. Willow Nightingale is also in the mix. Thekla and Willow are the two previous champions, so it makes sense for them to be hovering around the title scene. Many fans wanted Thekla inserted for a three-way at All In as a reward for her great work. AEW stuck to the singles match, and Mercedes defeated Willow in a fantastic fight. Mercedes and Thekla bring charisma as opponents, but it does mean heel versus heel. I’d like to think we’re past the idea that heel versus heel shouldn’t be done, especially in this case as a special attraction. Many fans root for Mercedes and Thekla anyway, so there will be a reaction if they collide. The easy answer would be to insert Willow for a triple-threat. Personal
